Looking to broaden your performance skills? MicheLee Puppets introduces beginner classes designed for actors, dancers, teachers and anyone who is interested in learning the basics of hand puppetry. This 3-session professional development series takes participants from the basics of moveable-mouth hand puppetry through the development of a character. Classes can either be purchased individually or as a series for a discounted rate.

Intro to Hand Puppet Session 1: Ages 13-Adult (3hr Session)

Learn the basics of animating a moveable-mouth hand puppet. Participants will practice head and mouth movement including eye focus, puppet posture and lip sync. No puppetry experience is required. Space is limited, reserve today!

Prerequisite: Must have attended either MicheLee Puppets’ “The Basics” or a similar professional training prior to attending.
Learn how to breathe life into a character, adding emotions through movement. Participants will learn techniques for using arm rods and head and mouth movements to add emotions to a moveable-mouth, hand and rod puppet. A hand and rod moveable-mouth puppet will be provided during class time.

Prerequisite: Must have attended either MicheLee Puppets’ “The Basics” and “Arms and Emotions” or similar professional trainings prior to attending.
Learn the basics for developing a moveable-mouth, hand and rod puppet into an animated character. Participants will learn techniques for basic puppetry acting, including voice development and projection as well as movement and character interaction. A hand and rod moveable-mouth puppet will be provided during class time.
